The Joint Collaborative Committees (JCCs) have partnered with Len Pierre Consulting and Musqueam First Nations to host a cultural experiential learning session for physicians on Wednesday, April 19th, 2023, from 5:00-9:00pm.

This interactive learning experience encourages on-going learning and relationship building between participants and Indigenous communities. Learn about cultural safety education within the First Nation community, experience traditional food, dwelling, songs, protocols, language, history and stories and connect with local health staff and providers that work in the First Nation community.

During this session, themes of colonial genocide, systematic separation from Indigenous identity, land and culture and the mental and physical health and substance use that come as a result of these facets, will be discussed. These themes may surface personal stories and participants are encouraged to prepare to hear this difficult journey.
