The Joint Collaborative Committees (JCCs) in partnership with Len Pierre Consulting and First Nation communities, will be hosting an interactive session to encourage ongoing learning and relationship building between participants and Indigenous communities. The event is being held for residents working in the health care sector living or practicing in or around the North Shore (North and West Vancouver).  

What are experiential learning sessions?

Participants will learn about cultural safety, experience traditional food, songs, protocols, language, history, and stories. Themes of colonial genocide, systematic separation from Indigenous identity, land and culture and the resulting mental and physical health disparities, will be discussed. These themes may surface personal stories and participants are encouraged to prepare to hear this difficult journey.

Please note that dinner, sessional time, and mileage exceeding 50km one-way will be covered by the JCCs. If you have additional questions, please email jcc@doctorsofbc.ca.
